After running the update my high scores now save ok.

Im stilll have no luck changing the hotkey from "num6" to "h"
If I edit it with notpad++ it looks right but no changes to how it functions.
Also ive tried to change in ES controller config. When I get to the hotkey input at the end- I press my new button and get a key h input from the ipac2... still doesn't seem to actually change the hot key.
I have game and core remap files for tons of games if this matters. Can anyone help me?

@driagonv Don't use save_on_exit for playing with re-maps, use the RGUI/RA Menu to Save Core Remap - https://retropie.org.uk/docs/RetroArch-Configuration/#core-input-remapping.

@pyjamarama Advmame has the config files in /opt/retropie/configs/mame-advmame - see https://retropie.org.uk/docs/MAME/ for each version. For Vice - see the corresponding emulator page at https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Commodore-64-VIC-20-PET/.

Thanks so much @mitu. It now will remember the save and won't show the ES loading screen even if it gets unplugged. Thanks so much for the reply.

@alexxx I believe the Using joystick message is the joystick information SDL reports to DOSBox. For my PS3 controller, I get the following:

Using joystick Sony PLAYSTATION(R)3 Controller with 27 axes, 19 buttons and 0 hat(s)

I do also get the following message which confirms my joysticktype setting.

One joystick reported, initializing with 4axis

I have checked the dosbox-SVN.conf file and the 2axis setting allows support for two joysticks.

Yea I've played around with it a fair bit though so it could be related to something non standard. Just wanted to set the retropie menu view to Basic and everything else to auto in ES and thought this was a way...

What was the solution? I'm trying to mount all my configs and roms and everything on an external usb so the 'OS' just runs from the card and nothing else.

@flashpc yeah, it's great. I took advantage of this feature in my rpie-art tool (link on my signature).

      Cheers!

I was following the tutorial to install kodi and add it to main menu, pressed tab button where I shouldn't. I am almost a noob, though I have been using pi over a year now. So will I have to reinstall everything from the beginnig or is this just the settings I have done so far that is gone?

@ltpaulieb you will only have a es_systems.cfg in /opt/retropie/emulationstation/configurations/all/ if you have copied it there yourself. It overrides the RetroPie managed one. If you want RetroPie to manage the systems, you should remove it (or manually keep it up to date).

Like a guess that you aren't using a libretto core PSX emulator.
